CALENDARS: A Breakthrough Online Marketing Tool

Video blogs are undoubtedly one of the best media to use for viral messaging. Blogs, however conventional are still the most effective way of updating websites and filling them with quality contents. But with the increasing competition in online marketing, more creativity is required to stay popular or viral. Few online marketers are now exploring the possibility of using a calendar as another promotional tool. Some of the things that can be done with it are posting your company and product milestones, creating a timeline of your company events, indicating bargain periods, or providing a clear schedule of the topics that you will discuss. For whatever purposes, calendar is a very safe change to make in your marketing scheme, without risking your company’s status that much.

  1. Calendars are less boring to read – you can provide updates through a calendar in a quicker and more creative way. That way, you will be able to take a hold of the viewers’ attention and interest longer.
  2. Calendars as Reminders – using a calendar as a medium, will give you more freedom and opportunities to alert your subscribers when you add new content to your calendars. It may serve as your constant reminder for them to revisit your site or product, and at the same time their constant reminder of considering you as an option for their need (or wants).
  3. Calendars can come in many forms – you may want to incorporate your calendars in your blog, as your way of enhancing your blog page, or you may also create a separate link for calendars alone – in this part, Google Calendar is always the best resort.
  4. Calendars are also good for subscriptions – like blogs and video blogs, you can also allow your visitors and followers to subscribe to your calendars, for you to easily and automatically prompt them each time an update is added.

Calendars are specifically useful for blogs that have been stagnant for many months already.  And they can also serve as an additional treat for your loyal subscribers, saving them from all the long-reading. We would also definitely try this technique in this blog soon. How about you? Have you tried incorporating calendars in your blog, already?
