Making Subject Lines that Encourage Action

When it comes to e-mail marketing, there is only one major action that you are anticipating – READ MESSAGE. You don’t want your E-mail to be wasted, because one respond can already be precious considering the many messages competing with your message in your audiences’ Inbox. With that, the subject line itself should already promote the content, and really make them read through it, and even consider your offers.
Here, we list down some of the basic tips of making the most appealing subject lines for your e-mail.
Less Gimmick – people have grown accustomed to that, they don’t work anymore. Readers will readily assume that it is something done just to attract them, and your message might just end up in their trash.
Personalize – as much as possible, reach out to your target readers in the most personal way that you can. If there is any way for you to get their name and use that in your e-mails, then the better. It is definitely more encouraging for them if they feel that you researched about them and their needs, and you are sending the e-mail because you can address those.
Put Sense of Urgency – since you are aiming for action, why not tell them to really take action as soon as they can. The subject lines can contain some encouraging phrases like “Respond Now” or “What are you waiting for? Contact us now.” This may sound demanding, but this can also be helpful in giving them an impression that you are more than eager to hear what they have to say.
“You” more than “Us” - focus the subject line on the many benefits that the reader can get from you, instead of emphasizing what you are all about, and what you want. From the subject line itself, the reader should know that what you are offering is for them, and for their best.
